Blackjack online game
Blackjack was originated in
France, and is one of the most popular casino games in the
world.
Object of the Game
The object of the game is to
achieve a higher card count than the dealer without exceeding
21.
How to Play
Cards are counted at their face
value. Kings, Queens,
and Jacks count as ten.
Aces count as one or eleven. If the first two cards you
are dealt total twenty-one, you have a blackjack. Blackjack pays one
and a half times your bet.
You cannot lose but you could tie if the dealer also has a
blackjack.
If you are dealt any combination
other than blackjack, you can either "stand" (take no more cards) or
signal the dealer for a "hit" (draw additional cards). Remember, the objective is
to reach twenty-one or as close to twenty-one as possible without
going over. You also
want your hand to be closer to twenty-one than the dealer hand. If your card count is closer
to twenty-one than the dealer hand, you win! if it is less, the
house wins. If you tie
with the dealer, you "push" (nobody wins, and nobody loses).
If you should go over twenty-one
("Overflow"), you immediately lose. After each player takes
their turn, the dealer turns up the house card face down card. If the dealer has sixteen or
less, the house must "hit" (draw additional cards), until reaching
seventeen or more.
Dealer must stand on "soft" 17. A "soft 17" is a hand
containing at least one Ace and can be counted as either seven or
seventeen. If the
dealer "Overflow", the house must pay all the players except the
player "Overflow".
Blackjack players have all the
options, the house has none.
Double Down
To double down means that you
want to double your bet on your initial two cards and draw only one
more card to improve your hand. You want to do this if you have a
good chance of beating the dealer without going over 21, with just
one more card.
Split
If the first two cards you're
dealt are a pair, the "Split" button will become available. You can
split your cards into two hands and play each hand separately. Your
original bet will be duplicated for the new hand, and each hand will
be played out as usual. The "Split" option can only be used once per
hand. Aces receive only one additional card and after the split.
Getting blackjack after a split does not count as a natural
blackjack, and does not pay any extra.
Insurance
Whenever the dealer's up card is
an ace, the insurance option will be available. When you buy
insurance, you are insuring yourself against the possibility that
the dealer has a blackjack. Insurance is an additional wager equal
to half of your original bet. If the dealer has a Blackjack, the
insurance will pay off at 2:1. Your original bet will be lost,
unless you also have a Blackjack, in which case the hand will push.
If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, you will lose the insurance
bet and the hand will be played out as usual.
Get 1:1
Cashing in your bet immediately
at a 1:1 payout ratio when you are dealt a natural blackjack and the
dealer's showing card is an Ace.
Surrender
Surrender means to give up your
hand. After you've been dealt 2 cards, the Surrender option will be
available. if you've been dealt two cards that you judge to be very
poor cards, and the dealer's face card is very good like a 10 card
or an ace, you may decide to surrender. If you do so, you will lose
half of your bet. The remaining half goes back to
you.
